Should the city have fired City Manager Jonathan Evans?

Mr. Evan's sad abrupt departure is merely one example of unethical alliances formed with our city's government. This man was unjustly fired for simply doing his job.

Do you think the city is run responsibly, appropriately and transparently?

I feel as though some of our city officials make spontaneous, unintelligent decisions based on good feelings and alliances. Not on facts or laws.

Should Riviera Beach council members and the mayor have the county's highest car allowances; city expense credit cards; personal legislative aides; and discretionary accounts to distribute grants to community groups of their choosing?

Riviera Beach elected officials need to realign their salaries and allowances comparatively to those of our neighboring cities.

Is the city ready to take on a $200 million waterfront development?

I strongly support growth and development in Riviera Beach. However, at the present moment I feel as though now is not the opportune time to move forward with projects of this magnitude due to economic uncertainty, lack of competent city directors, and key administrators.

I strongly support growth that will not negatively affect our property values. Some of our current council members seem to only be attracted to affordable housing. Riviera Beach must broaden it's vision to attract higher end home developers as a means of bringing in diversity, and economic growth.

Some communities require developers to build workforce housing units or offer payments toward workforce housing. Should your community require such subsidies for workforce housing?

Absolutely, I support the position of having critical city workers live within the city limits of which they serve. Our communities can only benefit from having police and fire personnel as their neighbors.

Is your city doing enough to maintain services such as police and roads?

Our police department has a high rate of personnel turnover. I feel as if more can be done towards officer retention. Such as offering longevity bonuses or supplemental retirement medical benefit packages. I'm very pleased with recent road projects.

The city has supported and approved many homeowners request to install solar energy panels.

As property values have increased, should city property tax rates be reduced?

Although the new city manager has only been on the job a few months, there has no significant change to fiduciary accountability.
